First, thank you for making the 2011 Spring Sale our highest grossing sale ever.  It's always great to see that kind of enthusiasm. :)  Several people asked if we could hold the sale price on some things for a few days, which we've always been happy to do, and it gave us some inspiration to do something a little different.

As a bit of an experiment, for the next few weeks at our main store in Second Life®, we're going to be discounting individual items for 24 hours only.  We won't be announcing which are being discounted, and when the 24 hours is over, it will revert to its normal price.  The items on sale will have a sale spinner over them that looks like the one you see here.

Again, thank you, and if you were hoping to catch something on sale...  Keep checking in. :)

We've been busy tweaking your favourite toys this week, so it seemed a wise idea to list what toys in the update gateway may have your name on them:

  • Omicron 2.0.9 -> 2.1 - The first big point-one update for the formidable Omi, which even has a change log.
  • AH-64D Apache Longbow 1.0.1 -> 1.1 - Another point-one update, bringing single-user weapon control in OCS, sim crossing, performance and memory improvements, crash and rotor collision resistance increased, and various other improvements.
  • M1A2 TUSK 1.1 -> 1.1.1 - Update to address anti-tank weapon engagement and countermeasures.
  • P90 PDW SMG 1.0 -> 1.0.1 - Minor update to address physics tunneling under some conditions and reducing memory use.

Enjoy the updates, unless you don't actually own any of these fine, fine, products, in which case this would be an excellent time to pick one up, wouldn't it? :)

Omicron IIWe know what you're thinking: "It's about time!" and we wholeheartedly agree.  It's been a long road, but we're positively giddy to announce the release of Omicron 2.

What's so great about it?  Glad you asked.  We've leveraged the experience we gained from Omicron 1, and recruited a squad of users to give feedback and help make this the best device in its class, ever.  New scripting functions and networked databases allow Omicron 2 to go far beyond being a mere utility or combat HUD.

Omicron 2 Overview

And we’re just getting warmed up - Version 2.1 (a free update, naturally) is already on the workbench to add even more great features.

And for those of you who have purchased Omicron 1.5.2 in the last year, we're going to offer to upgrade you to Omicron 2.0 for exactly L$0.  Yes, for free.  Just IM April Heaney or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I feel compelled to write something about this release, in part due to the anticipation that has been expressed to me, and because it represents the next generation of a product that many people think of when they think of The Omega Concern.
